Cowboy Corner Trail Riding Seminar

Ohio Valley Arabian Horse Association (OVAHA) and Marcia DeVeny of Cowboy Corner provided a very informative Trail Riding Clinic Kickoff on March 26, 2012 at Affinia Farm. The Kickoff Clinic was provided to educate and encourage riders to participate in OVAHA's Recreational Riding Program (to join or learn more, click here), led by an expert trail rider, Marcia DeVeny! Trail riding provides pleasurable recreation and exercise for our horses. This clinic taught riders how to ride safely on the equine trails. Approximately 60 attended the clinic.

The highlights of the night included the following topics, demonstrations and speakers:

•	Nutrition, Sharon Kill by Hubbard Feeds
•	Farrier for special shoeing, David Beam
•	Proper saddle fitting by Tim Taufman at Buckin' Good Tack
•	First Aid demo and Safety by Joanne Morgan
•	Self defense for the rider by Brian Hackett
•	Park Rangers from 5 River Metro Parks
•	Trail course demo by Velma Fehr
•	Dr. Brett Ellis the Vet on Acupuncture (Dr. Ellis has a radio program on 1290 Tuesday)
•	Equine Dentist, Rodger Kelsea

The Ohio Valley Arabian Horse Association is committed to formulating educational and publicity programs in the interest of the Arabian, half arabian and anglo-arabian horse and owner. We are seeking applicants who are not current members of AHA or whose personal circumstances have not permitted a 2012 membership.
